The Algeria Sahara Photography Tour is an 8-day small-group desert photo expedition led by photographers Alex Wides and Isabella Tabacchi through the Tadrart region near Djanet, Algeria. Guided by local Tuareg drivers, it covers golden dunes, ancient rock art and pristine dark-sky spots like Erg Admer and El Berdj Canyon, with astrophotography, coaching and full-board camps included.

8 days in the Algerian Sahara
The Experience:
An expedition into the Tadrart with Tuareg drivers, Alex, Isabella and at most twelve photographers. The days are dunes, rock and canyon. The nights have no light for miles.
The first and last nights are in a hotel in Djanet, with a private bathroom. Every night between is a tented camp the team puts up where the light will be. Each person has their own tent. Meals are cooked in camp. There are no showers in the desert, and you bring a sleeping bag rated for the cold.
The route is a long plan, not a drive into the desert to see what turns up. Locations, the ground the camp will stand on each night, and the hours set aside to charge cameras, phones and power banks are worked out before the convoy leaves Djanet. The Tuareg team puts the tents where the next photograph is, and the inverters in the 4x4s are part of that plan, so batteries are full before the sky goes dark. You are not looking for a place to sleep after sunset.
The camp moves with the photographs. That, and the sky after dinner, is the thing a fixed hotel in Djanet cannot give you.
