This tour requires a moderate fitness level. Most locations are accessible by 4x4 vehicle, with short walks on sand dunes (30-40 minutes). Walking on soft sand can be tiring, but no technical climbing skills are needed. The main challenge is adapting to desert temperatures and terrain.

We keep our groups intimate with a maximum of 8 participants to ensure personalized attention, better photography opportunities, and agile movement in remote terrain.

Essential: Camera with manual settings (DSLR or mirrorless), wide-angle lens (14-24mm), medium zoom (24-70mm), sturdy tripod, remote shutter release, extra batteries, and plenty of memory cards. Recommended: Polarizing filter, ND filters for long exposures, headlamp for night shoots. Protect your gear from sand and dust.

March offers pleasant desert weather with daytime temperatures around 20-25°C (68-77°F). Nights can be cold, dropping to near 0°C (32°F), especially with wind. Essential to bring warm layers, sleeping bag, jacket, hat, and gloves for evening/night photography.

We spend most nights in fully-equipped tented camps set up by our Tuareg team. Tents are single occupancy. Facilities are basic (no showers in desert), but the experience is authentic and the locations are chosen for optimal photography. First and last nights are in a hotel in Djanet with private bathrooms.

A non-refundable deposit of $960 secures your seat. The remaining balance is due 60 days before the tour start date. Total price is $3,200 per person.

Yes, most nationalities require a visa for Algeria (approximately €90). We will provide guidance and support documentation for your visa application. Start the process early as it can take several weeks.

Yes, comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory, covering adventure travel, medical evacuation, and trip cancellation. The Sahara is remote, and evacuation can be expensive. We recommend policies that specifically cover desert expeditions.

Yes, non-photographers are welcome. They will enjoy the incredible desert experience, cultural immersion with Tuareg guides, and spectacular landscapes, though the itinerary is designed primarily for photography.

Our 4x4 vehicles have power inverters for charging camera batteries and essential electronics. Bring power banks as backup. Phone signal is non-existent in the desert, so conserve battery life.
