TUSCANY

The tour starts and ends in Rome. We meet at Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO, Terminal 3) at 1 PM on day one, and on the final day we return to Rome, arriving at the airport around 2 PM. Group transfers to and from the villa are included. We recommend arriving in Italy one day early to be relaxed for the first sunset session.

You can book online by card: pay a non-refundable deposit of $1,440 per person (30%) to secure your seat, or pay in full. The remaining balance is due 60 days before the tour start date. The full price is $4,800 per photographer in a shared twin room, and $5,800 with a single room.

This is an easy tour. Expect short, slow walks (under 1 km) on flat terrain and cobblestones, standing 30–60 minutes for a shoot, and carrying only light camera gear (about 5–7 kg). No hikes are required, and we take frequent breaks. Good general health is all you need.

Groups are kept small, with a maximum of 10 participants, so you get real, hands-on feedback in the field and plenty of time to create at each location.

No. The workshop is designed for photographers of all levels. You should know the basic controls of your camera; Alex helps with composition, light, settings, long exposures, storytelling and post-processing throughout the week.

We stay in a beautiful countryside villa in Val d'Orcia with pool and spa, private bathrooms and double rooms (single available on request). All meals with authentic Tuscan cuisine are included; wine and other beverages are extra.

A camera body, a sturdy tripod, a mid-range zoom (24–70 mm) and a telephoto zoom (100–400 mm) are the most useful; a wide-angle lens is a nice extra. Bring a remote trigger or use your camera’s internal timer, spare batteries and memory cards. A polarizing filter is optional but handy for midday shots.

The itinerary is flexible by design and adapts to light and weather. Early May brings fresh spring greens, wildflowers and long, soft golden hours over the Val d'Orcia hills.

While not mandatory, we strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, medical emergencies and travel delays.

Yes. Non-photographers and companions are welcome to join the tour. Companion arrangements are handled case by case — send an enquiry if you would like someone to join you.

Italy is part of the Schengen Area. EU citizens do not need a visa. Many other nationalities (US, Canada, Australia and more) can enter visa-free for up to 90 days. Check your specific country's requirements before booking.
